Family Visiting Q1 and Q2

Family Visiting Q1:

Issued to those who are family members of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence and intend to go to China for family reunion, or to those who intend to go to China for the purpose of foster care. The intended duration of stay in China exceeds 180 days.

"Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.


Documents required for Q1:

Visa application form. 
Important Note: Please send us electronically scans of ALL documents needed for the generation of your application form which are listed in all the requirements below;

Original passport.
The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

Passport-type photograph.
One digital photo. No physical photo needs to be submitted.

Proof of Kinship.
If applicant is visiting family members (spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons/daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, and parents-in-law), please provide the ORIGINAL and photocopy of certification of kinship showing relationship of family members between applicant and inviting individual. These can include marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship issued by the Public Security Bureau or notarized certification of kinship. This visa is for family reunions and classified as Q1.

Inviter's ID. 
A copy of the front and back of their Chinese Permanent Residence Card and their national passport's information pages/A copy of the front and back of their Chinese ID card.

Previous visas.
A copy of your last visa to China, If the visa is still valid you must submit the old passport with the old visa in it. If you are no longer in possession of your previous Chinese visa you must include a letter to the Chinese consulate or embassy explaining when and where you received your previous visa and how the passport and visa were lost.

Proof of residency.
Copy of driver's license, state issued ID, or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage, phone, etc) for the one of the most recent three month, showing the applicant's name and current address.

Personal invitation.
An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residencepermit who lives in China;
(Please consult us to acquire the standard format of the invitation letter).

We kindly remind you that:
Holders of Q1 Visa shall, within 30 days from the date of their entry, apply to the exit/entry administrations of public security organs under local people’s governments at or above the county level in the proposed places of residence for foreigners’ residence permits.

Family Visiting Q2:
Issued to those who intend to visit their relatives who are Chinese citizens residing in China or foreigners with permanent residence in China. The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

Document(s) required for Q2:

Visa application form.

Original passport.
The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages. To make sure you can get a 10-year visa, your passport must be valid for over 12 months.

Passport-type photograph.
One digital photo. No physical photo needs to be submitted.

Proof of Kinship. 
Is not required if applying in the States and some major countries all over the world.

Inviter's ID.
A copy of the front and back of their Chinese Permanent Residence Card and their national passport's information pages/A copy of the front and back of their Chinese ID card.
